Little Acorns provide opportunities for all children to develop their understanding of numbers, measurement, pattern, shape and space.

We help the nusery children explore and find out about their environment, people and places that have significance in their lives.

The Little Acorns baby room is bright and spacious, our staff give the babies attention that is second to none.

At Little Acorns Day Nursery we strongly believe children learn through play.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

This area is very important to children just entering into the nursery way of life. We aim for children to become confident when being left by their parent/carer and to feel safe and secure, enabling them to build up a trust with the adults and the children with whom they will be sharing a range of experiences. We aim to allow the children to become independent when taking part in and choosing activities of their individual choice whilst learning to accept the needs of others within a group.

The childern at Little Acorns Day Nursery explore and share their ideas through art, music, dance and imaginative role play activities.

Communication, Language and Literacy

Giving the opportunity for all children to talk and communicate in a widening range of situations, to respond to adults and to each other, to practice and extend the range of vocabulary and communication skills they use and to listen carefully. Giving the children the opportunity to explore, enjoy, learn about and use words and text in a broad range of contexts and to experience a rich variety of books.

Creative Development

By giving children opportunities to explore and share their thoughts, ideas, and feelings through a variety of art, design and technology, music, movement, dance and imaginative role play activities.

Mathematical Development

Providing opportunities for all children to develop their understanding of numbers, measurement, pattern, shape and space by using a broad range of contexts in which they can explore, enjoy, learn and talk about them.

Little Acorns is a large friendly house with a superb outdoor play area that is used daily for fresh air and exercise.

Physical Development

Throughout the session physical development plays a large part and within a wide range of activities, encouraging their fine and gross motor skills, hand and eye co-ordination, increase their understanding of how their bodies work and what they need to be healthy and safe.

Knowledge and Understanding of the World

Within this area we will be giving the children the opportunity to solve problems, make decisions, experiment, predict, plan and question in a varied range of contexts and to explore and find out about their environment, people and places that have significance in their lives.
